On Tuesday 7 July we will welcome some 20 members of Gloucester Civic Trust who have asked us to arrange a walk of the Centre of Reading. We will meet them at 10:30 in The Pantry and then Terry Dixon, Richard Stainthorp and others will take them for a wander around the historic, and the modern, parts of town. They are off to Sonning in the Afternoon. Members are most welcome to join us. Further information will be provided in due course.
There will be a Heritage Open Day walk “South of Castle Hill and to Coley” on 11 Sept and 20th September starting at 10am. Full details will be provided later and booking by Eventbrite. We are working with other groups to bring some new events this years HODs programme in Reading.
We are working on plans for the Churches Tour which will be on Sunday 27 September. This time we are thinking of heading into Hampshire to visit some churches in and around Overton.
Plans to visit Oxford Colleges have had to be put back to 2021 as Amanda Martin is still recovering from a traffic accident.
We hope again to be able to offer members the opportunity to take part in the High Sheriff of Berkshire’s service to mark the start of the Judicial Year, this will be in held in Reading Minster in October.
