Membership and Participation

Members receive regular newsletters, sometimes controversial but always lively, keeping members in touch with the Society's campaigns and representations. They also receive full details of the forthcoming program of events. As an ordinary member of the Civic Society, you are lending moral support to its causes, and a larger membership increases the degree to which the Society can represent a depth and breadth of opinion, causing it to be taken more seriously by both politicians and council officers. This is the importance of you joining the Society.

Membership of the Society provides financial support for its campaigning and lobbying activities. Furthermore, the Society is always looking for people to take responsibility for different aspects of its work: administration, publicity, social, campaigning, fund raising; internet support or to contribute through writing, photography, drawing, researching or lobbying. If you have a particular interest or skill that you might like to develop or offer, please let a member of the Executive Committee know, or ring the Chairman on Reading on 0118 9598 350.
